Willard Richards Inn

Loved this cute historical bed and breakfast. Located close to the pagent, walking distance to all the shops. Laura is sweet and takes good care of you! Highly recommended!

Beautifully restored 1840's home with additions added in late time periods. Rooms are decorated in period motifs. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

We had the most wonderful stay this week. My son and I were so delighted with the amazing breakfasts (so much food and so delicious) and the comfortable room. I have a bad back so I always worry about beds but it was very comfortable. And of course the amazing history of the house .. I've always wanted to be able to stay where my ancestors lived in Nauvoo, and this is such an amazing opportunity. The best location. I don't know yet when I'll be back to Nauvoo. But I do know for sure where I'll be staying. Thank you Elena for taking such great care of us!

Historic house in Nauvoo made into a bed and breakfast. Delightful hosts, great breakfasts. Service was excellent. The hosts are very responsive to questions. The middle floor rooms looked more spacious; all the rooms are a little different and you should check the inn's website and call them if you are wondering which bedroom to choose. The historical details of the building are interesting, and it has been well kept and renovated with respect to the historic nature of the building. There are antiques from the historic nauvoo period throughout the inn. Highly recommended place to stay, and very convenient for visiting nauvoo. You can just walk and visit the sites.

What can I say about the Willard Richard's Inn that hasn't already been said? The hospitality was world class, the inn keepers were so kind and took so much time to explain the significance of different parts of the building, the people who lived there and early Nauvoo. The food they served, well the kids still talk about it months later. The property is so beautiful and delightful. We just loved the beautifully curated decor. We felt right at home and enjoyed sharing the common living room with other guests on conference weekend. We had never been to Nauvoo before and originally looked at hotels that were on the Iowa side of the river with plans to explore Nauvoo from there. We are so glad we stayed at the Willard Richard's Inn because we could just step outside and we were already wandering the streets of old Nauvoo. I could feel the history, if that's a thing. Being raised on the west coast and hearing stories of the early church, I had a picture painted in my mind of what this place was like. Being there immersed in the city I was able to better appreciate exactly why this place was so special. So many important things happened in this little corner of the Mississippi. If you are considering introducing your family to this area, I can't think of a better way to experience it. We will never stay anywhere else. We are already planning our next stay. It was worth every penny to stay there.

Excellent comfort in a historic period home with an attentive delicious breakfast service and housekeeping delivered as promised. We were very comfortable during our 3 nights in air-conditioned comfort during a hot September week. We found the visit spent in and around Nauvoo completely enjoyable while accommodated in the home. This stay was one of our most satisfying travel experiences in a long list of world- wide travel destinations. The Willard Richards Inn is a clean and quiet high quality B&B experience completely as expected. Much of the experience was tremendously enhanced in large part due to the hard working friendly hosts whom can provide an excellent historical narrative of the home.

This was the most amazing place to stay for our visit to Nauvoo. My family rented out the place, and it was the best decision we made for our trip. Since we visited in April where not everything is open all the time, it was incredibly convenient that breakfast was provided each morning. The rooms are cozy, and the bathrooms are spacious. Every room has its own bathroom! The location to the Nauvoo temple and historic Nauvoo cannot be beat. You are staying in the thick of it. Aside from the beautiful history of the home (which is amazing in itself), the rooms are very comfortable. There are pull down shades on the windows, lots of outlets, and even though it is a very old home, it was airy and smelled great (which one of us was worried about). Plenty of parking for rental cars. The property and house is very well kept up. Our hosts were so wonderful. So easy going, friendly and kind. The breakfasts were all delicious!!!! I don’t think I can stay anywhere else when I go back. Thanks Willard Richards Inn for a magical time.

Willard Richards was a friend to Joseph Smith and one of the four brethren falsely imprisoned at Carthage Jail when Joseph and Hyrum were martyred. I've stayed in this historic home several times. It was built in the early 1800's and is in spectacular condition! So beautiful, and right there in the old town of Nauvoo. You can walk to all of the attractions from this home. The hostess, Laura, is very knowledgeable of not only the house's history, but that of the town as well. Exceptional experience here; I will return every time I come to visit Nauvoo! Thank you!
